The Effect Of Self Care Program On Self Care, Cognition And Quality Of Life Among Outpatient Diabetics At Benha University Hospital

This study was conducted to determine the effect of self-care program on self-care, cognition and quality of life among outpatient diabetics. The sample studied was composed of 60 male and female conscious adult patients at the diabetic outpatient clinic in Benha University Hospital. Patient’s age ranged between 18 and 60 years old with a confirmed diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (type I or type II) for at least 6 months. The results of this study emphasized those scores of self-care, cognition and quality of life among the studied subjects were increased after participation in the self-care program. Also the results of this study illustrated that there was positive statistical significant correlation between self-care, cognition and quality of life.
